Burning the midnight oil. It is now 4:28 a.m. pst. Had to draw. I played with wet lace and graphite pencil. Here is the result for tonight...it started out as a study of shadow and light. Wish I could take credit for the subject!
Hi Janine! I can sympathise with the burning the midnight oil-I am a night person and find it hard to go to bed and almost impossible to get up! Your drawing is lovely. How did you get that result with the wet lace? It gives a lovely texture doesn't it? I have used plastic lace doilies for printing before and for stencils. Thanks for your lovely comment the other day on my Sadie drawings too!
Thank you Janie! Thank you Sarah! Sarah, I have some antique lace I use for ceramics, embossing and now this...I wet the lace and run my graphite pencil over it and then put the penciled part over areas I want to embellish. I use a paint bottle to roll over the lace while it is wet. I hope that makes sense!
Thank you Julie! Yes, I am trying to grow up, hopefully my art will show it!
Hi Janine, Just to let you know, I finally remembered the giveaway from last week and you were one of the names drawn! My email is sarahjwallis@hotmail.co.uk Send me your address and I will send it off as soon as I can.
