Sunshine came softly a thru my window today..

That is the Donovan song that came through my brain as I was creating this, that sure dates me! I used a technique using ammonia to transfer a drawing onto sketch paper (i've mentioned it a long time ago, several times and won't go through it again.  Just take my word for it...:)) I also used oil pastel, stabilio, colage, stencil, alcohol ink. I thought, what a fun challenge that would be to create some art inspired by a song.  After looking at it I can see I need to tweak a bit more!  RATS!

Inspired today.

This weekend I was gathering some papers together to collage and this is the result.

I used various papers for collage and Promarker pens and Copic Multiliner black pens, stencils and alcohol ink in background.  I applied old text and collaged my cut out face on top of stenciled paper background and built up from there.  It is done on 9" x 12" Grumbacher sketch paper that I recently dug up while trying to organize, (still working on the organization part).   I am not sure if this is complete but think I will leave it for awhile.

I think I will start a fabric art journal...

This piece is on muslin.  I used an image I drew and transfered it onto the cloth.  I then added some stamping with inks and acrylic paint.  I added tissue paper for leaves.  I plan on doing more to this, it is just a start.  I have wanted to try a cloth journal ever since I saw one for the first time years ago!  I think this one, after I am done with it, I will try and sell it in my Etsy shop.  So no words in this one just drawing and stitching, adding on to and just playing.

An art journal page while taking online class with Suzi blu

I think I am addicted to online classes!  This class is with Suzi Blu "A Lovely Dream" it is an all year class.  I love the things I learn with Suzi!  I have used a mat because I may cut this apart and use certain areas of it in an art journal.  I am not sure yet.  That is what I like about AJ's I can do whatever I want and feel unrestricted to a point.  I am working that out too!  I have to try a fabric journal soon.  I have my muslin stained and ready to go but now I have this mess to clear up and oh my I keep praying I will clean it up before any earthquakes!  Click on pictures to get a closer view if you'd like, still looks a bit blurry to me though.

Making my own stamps this weekend.

I made quite a few stamps since this Friday...I get so frustrated when I can't find the right napkin or stamp to collage what I want to.  So I got the carving bug and went for it and I am not finished.  I am trying to use the rubber carving blocks wisely as I am coming to the end of them until I can buy some more.  I am only showing these because I don't want to dig around for the others, I made a poppy or two and a tulip or two and some leaves.  I am not finished...these really went quickly and that was a good feeling!

                                               Happy Easter to you all!

Misty Mawn's Open Studio online class, wip.

This is my work in progress.  I started on watercolor paper and then chalk pastel then acrylic paint.  It is time for me to stop, I have been at it for hours this morning and I am sure the cats want in to munch on some kibble.  This is a lot of fun and hard for me to stop, so much more to tweak!  It feels good!

The moment waits for you....

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog! I appreciate all of your visits and comments!
